Ryan Murphy
Ryan is a 200hr certified yoga teacher through the international Yoga Alliance registered school, Yogatrotter Academy. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College and an Associates degree from Lakes Region CC. He has been serving on active duty in the U.S. Navy since 2008 as a deep-sea diver and found that adding a yoga practice to his life gave him more balance of mind. Ryan’s practice is guided by the grounded “Warrior Mindset”, a framework of performance psychology and mindfulness developed by the Naval Special Warfare community, that unites mind, body, and spirit to perform under pressure and find calm in chaos. For Ryan, yoga supports a beautiful balance between mindfulness and health, and his classes are a playful blend of sweaty vinyasa flow with the calmness of tree pose, and plenty of humor woven in to put a smile on students’ faces. Ryan is a proud member of the Hathaletics team and also teaches at Niantic Yoga.
