What can you do now that your 20 or 30-year old self couldn’t do?
Deeply enjoy the present. Lean into every thrilling experience as it unfolds. Trust yourself.

How has your path to this age looked different than someone else’s path?
In a way I feel as if I’m taking the opposite path of the expected. I’m more emboldened to try new things, and chase exciting opportunities! I was more scheduled and regimented in my younger adult years. Now I have the drive and desire to really follow my dreams!

Is there a mantra or quote that represents your guiding force?
Live each day with intention.

Was there a person or situation that positively shifted your life?
The women who studied with me, championed me and mentored me during my time at Yogatrotter Academy, where I received my yoga instructor certification, truly changed my life by providing the nurturing support to embolden me to start my dream business!

What do you want young women to know about how you got to where you are in life? What words of advice do you have to empower the next generation?
I am extremely fortunate to have three extraordinary and brilliant daughters whom I learn from every day! Every day is a new opportunity for self exploration, new discoveries and exciting endeavors. My one piece of advice is to choose to learn something new every day.

What’s a moment when you stood up for yourself or felt courageous? How did it change you?
Starting a business at 50 can be nerve-wracking and intimidating! The day I decided to take the leap, I utilized all the meditative teachings I had learned and focused my energy and thoughts on the positive outcomes, versus the possible failures. It made me realize that my own belief in myself is a powerful motivator.

Why did you want to be a part of this portrait series?
I’m truly inspired by the women over 40 who surround me every day, living, learning and sharing their knowledge and wisdom. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to share my story of changing my life through yoga and starting a business focusing on longevity, and showing others that life just gets better each year we are gifted!
