Weekly classes with Kate Thoms at Niantic Yoga Studio

Kate’s Hatha yoga class combines strengthening, stretching, and breathwork to improve joint health and longevity (specifically knees, hips, back, and shoulders) to support injury prevention and boost mental clarity and concentration. This class is taught by Kate Thoms of Hathaletics, focusing on safety in movement to improve quality of life and help you feel more at home in your body. Hatha Yoga is a slower-moving practice of postures that alternate between strengthening and stretching major muscle groups in order to stabilize the joints.

I enjoy my time at Niantic yoga with Kate Thoms. She is very knowledgeable in her role as the Hatha Yoga Instructor. As an older, less experienced yoga practitioner, I respect the way Kate explains the proper method and benefits of the movements. She is also very understanding with my limitations and stresses the importance of listening to my body when doing any movements. As soon as I walk in and sit myself down, my whole body relaxes knowing Kate would probably be okay if I just sat there in Padmasana or Savasana.
